Copy text out of a screenshot

Get editable printed text from a screenshot without sending the screenshot to an OCR server.

Prepare the screenshot

Choose the original screenshot file instead of a tiny resaved preview when possible. Rotate if needed. Crop away toolbars, menus and unrelated text using left/top/width/height. Small or stylized UI fonts may be harder to read. Changing crop or rotation discards that image’s prior text so it cannot be mistaken for the new crop.

Inspect the recognition

The OCR input view shows the exact cropped/rotated image recognized by the engine. Optional word boxes show raw recognized word locations and confidence. Confidence is an uncalibrated engine signal, not a probability. Boxes and scores do not follow manual edits.

Use the words

Review and edit in the text area. Copy page text or download Unicode TXT/JSON. Copy can be blocked by browser permissions; manual select-and-copy or TXT download remains available. There is no automatic clipboard read or write.
